Angra dos Reis bay has more than 300 islands. This trip leaves Vila do Abraão, crosses the channel between Ilha Grande and the mainland and visits some of the most photogenic: the Botinas islets, two tiny islands with transparent water, Cataguases beach and Gipóia island.
What you will do
- A boat or speedboat trip of about 7 hours.
- Swimming and snorkeling at the Botinas islets.
- Stops at Cataguases, Piedade and Gipóia depending on the day.
- Mineral water and a cool box with ice on board.
Who it is for
For everyone, families included. It is a cruise through sheltered waters, calmer than the round-the-island tour. Respect swimming areas and do not feed the fish.
What to bring
- Swimwear, towel and sunscreen.
- A snorkel mask if you have one.
- Cash for lunch on Gipóia or Cataguases.
Best time to go
All year round. April to October has the calmest sea; in summer the islands get busy, so an early start helps.
