We are hiring
in Mexico & Central America
Poseidon Week sells skippered sailing weeks for groups of up to 12. In 2027 we sail in Mexico: La Paz & Sea of Cortez, Belize: Southern Cays, Panama: San Blas and we are hiring licensed charter skippers, hosts and cooks who know the area.
Who we need
Charter skipper
- Commercial licence valid in Mexico & Central America to carry guests
- Local knowledge of anchorages and marinas
- Fluent English; other languages a plus
- Full weeks, Saturday to Saturday
Host / cook
- Simple, good cooking for up to 12
- Experience on board or in hospitality
- People skills and English
- Full season or single weeks
Steady work
- Weeks booked before the season
- Groups briefed before boarding
- Paid on time, per week
- Guests from Europe and the US

Before you join
What licence do I need to work as a skipper in Mexico & Central America?
Whatever the Mexico & Central America authorities require for commercial charter with guests, plus valid insurance and work permits. We check it with you before the season.
When is the season in Mexico & Central America?
We sail in January, February, March, April, May, June, October, November, December.
Do you also hire hosts and cooks?
Yes. Many weeks carry a host or cook as well as the skipper. Tell us your experience in the application.
How is it paid?
Per week, at a rate agreed before the season, with no surprises.
