Mallorca has dream beaches and coves. Here are some ideal places for rest and
relaxation.

  • Cala Agulla: a white sandy beach located in the northeast of the island. It is an
    ideal place for swimming and water sports.
  • Cala Estellecens: is a small, easily accessible beach, with numerous rocky caves
    to explore.
  • Mondreagó cave: slocated in a natural park surrounded by woods and scrubland.
  • Cala Santanyi: with warm turquoise waters and fine white sand. It is located on the
    southeast coast of Mallorca, surrounded by a spectacular rocky coastline and pine
    trees.
  • Cala Tuent: it is surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana.
    It is considered one of the best beaches in the northeast of Mallorca.

Bellver castle: it is a Gothic-style fortification built at the beginning of the 14th century, at the request of King James II of Mallorca. It is one of the few European castles with a circular floor plan.

  • Bendinat Castle: a neo-Gothic style building, built in the 19th century by the VI Marquis de la Romana.
  • Cathedral-Basílica de Santa María de Palma o Catedral de Mallorca: this imposing architectural structure was built in 1229. It is also known as the Eye of the Gothic, due to the fact that it contains
    one of the largest rose windows in the Levantine Gothic style. It was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931.
  • Royal Palace of La Almudaina: this is one of the residences of the Spanish royal family. It was rebuilt in 1309 by King Jaime II, and was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1931 Mallorca
  • Paseo Calviá: is a pedestrian, sports and thematic promenade built in 2003, which facilitates pedestrian and cycling connections in the Spanish municipality of Calviá. It has been catalogued as the largest linear park in Europe, with a length of 32 kilometres.
  • Route of Caimari a Lluc: this is a naturalistic route of cultural interest. This route follows the old pilgrimage route to the Sanctuary of Lluc, crossing the landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana.
  • Sanctuary de Santa María de Lluc: it is a monastery that has been designated as the first Marian sanctuary in the Balearic Islands. It has a large botanical garden for research, conservation and dissemination of the diversity of plant species.

Dijous Bo o Good Thursday: this is a fair held in the municipality of Inca, located in the central- northern part of Mallorca, with the sale of all kinds of Mallorcan products.

  • Fiesta del Estandarte o Fiesta de la Conquista: this festival is celebrated on 31st December to
    commemorate the capture of the city by the troops of James I of Aragon during the conquest of the island of Mallorca in 1229.
  • Moors y Christians: religious festivity that stages the battles between Christians and Muslims.
  • March from Güell to Lluc on foot: this is a marchthat takes place on the first Saturday in
    August, starting from Plaça Güell to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria de Lluc. The route is 46 kilometres long and lasts between 8 and 13 hours.

The gastronomy of the island of Mallorca is characterised by the use of local products. It has
a legendary baking and pastry-making tradition that dates back to the 14th century.

  • Arròs Brut: also known as dirty rice, it is considered one of the most typical dishes in Mallorca. It is a brothy rice dish, prepared with meat and garden produce.
  • Caracoles a la Mallorquina: an ancient recipe dating back to the 14th century, made with lean
    pork or lamb. It is accompanied with potatoes, red peppers, spring onions, fennel and peas.
  • Coca de Trampó: delicious baked dough with a stew of peppers, tomatoes, onion, paprika and
    olive oil.
  • Frito Mallorquin: fried liver and/or offal of lamb, pork and samphire.
  • Frito Marinero: a mixture of fish cut into cubes or small pieces and samphire.
  • Lechona Asada a la Mallorquina: this is one of the most typical Mallorcan dishes, prepared with
    a native breed of pigs bred on the island.
  • Sopa Mallorquina: a vegetable-based soup accompanied by slices of country bread.
  • Tumbet: This is the Mallorcan version of the French ratatouille. It consists of a vegetable dish prepared with potatoes, aubergines, tomatoes and red peppers.

Nit de l’Art en Palma: is an annual event held in Palma in September, marking the start of the artistic season in Mallorca. The program of this event includes exhibitions organised in galleries and museums.

Rally Clásico Puerto Portals: this is a benchmark event among the classic- European rally circuits. It is held in March and is ideal for lovers of classic cars. Impressive models of vehicles take part.

  • Hidropark: is the only water park located in the north of Mallorca. It includes a variety of water activities and attractions, in more than 40,000 square metres.
  • Inca Market: one of the largest open-air markets in Mallorca, with more than 100 stalls selling leather goods, handicrafts, delicacies and traditional local fresh produce, among other items and products.
  • Katmandu Park: is one of the coolest theme and interactive parks in Europe. It includes more than 10 attractions.
  • Marineland Mallorca: is one of the first marine zoos in Spain and Europe. It includes a spectacular dolphin show, sea lion shows, parrots and exotic birds, among other attractions.
  • Palma Aquarium: is an impressive aquarium, which offers full day tours. It has the deepest shark tank in Europe, 55 tanks and more than 700 marine species.
  • Western Water Park: is a water park located in Magaluf, Mallorca. It has three themed areas: Indian Town, El Paso and Westerland. It has the tenth highest water slide in the
    world, known as “The Beast”.
