The Langkawi SkyCab is one of the steepest cable cars in the world. It leaves Oriental Village near Telaga and climbs to the summit of Mount Machinchang, among the oldest rock formations in South-East Asia, inside the UNESCO Geopark.
What you do
- Ride a gondola over the rainforest to the middle station and the summit.
- Viewpoints over the islands, Telaga Tujuh waterfall and, on clear days, Thailand.
- Walk the Sky Bridge, the curved walkway suspended over the void, when it is open.
- Base-station attractions included in the package: SkyDome, SkyRex and 3D art.
Who it is for
All ages. It is Langkawi’s most visited land attraction and a good choice for a cloudy day.
What to bring
- A light jacket: it is cooler at the top.
- Comfortable shoes for stairs.
- A charged camera or phone.
Best time
All year. Go early to beat queues and clouds. On Wednesdays it opens at noon for maintenance.
Good to know
The Sky Bridge and SkyGlide have their own access and tickets and may close in wind or for maintenance. In storms the cable car stops temporarily. Glass-floor gondolas are optional.
Included
- SkyCab 5-in-1 combo ticket

- Eagle’s Nest Skywalk
- SkyDome, SkyRex and 3D art
