Norman Island Snorkel Trip: The Caves & The Indians

Sail by catamaran from Tortola to Norman Island to snorkel the pirate caves and The Indians marine park. Lunch, drinks and gear included.

Norman Island, said to have inspired Treasure Island, holds some of the best snorkelling in the BVI. On this shared catamaran day you swim at The Caves, sea caves full of fish, and at The Indians, four pinnacles rising from the sea and ringed by coral.

How the day works

  • 9:30 departure from Tortola’s south coast.
  • Snorkelling at The Caves and The Indians.
  • Lunch on board and a stop at The Bight or Peter Island.
  • Back around 4 pm.

Who it is for

Families, couples and anyone who can swim. Life jackets and noodles are available for children and beginners. The crew gives a short snorkel lesson and watches from the water.

What to bring

  • Swimwear, towel and reef-safe sunscreen.
  • Cap, sunglasses and a rash guard.
  • A waterproof camera.

Best time

All year. From December to April the trade winds make the channel choppier; May to July is often calm with very clear water.
