Fishing is part of daily life on Koh Samui, and this Koh Samui fishing trip lets you experience it with local fishermen. We head out in the morning on a traditional boat towards the reefs and islets to the south or west of the island.
What you do
- Bottom fishing with rod and line for snapper, grouper, trevally and mackerel.
- Trolling between spots when conditions allow.
- A stop to swim or snorkel at a nearby island.
- Lunch on board, with the crew cooking some of the catch Thai-style.
Who it is for
Beginners and keen anglers, families with children and groups of friends. No experience is needed: the crew shows you how to bait the hook and land the fish. We practise responsible fishing and release undersized fish.
What to bring
A cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, light long-sleeved clothing and swimwear. Rods, bait and lunch are included, along with drinking water for the whole day.
Best time
January to October, with the calmest seas from February to September. In November and part of December the monsoon may force cancellations. For something more exclusive, you can book a private boat.
