Every Sunday (and some Thursdays in season), the Shirley Heights lookout above English Harbor and Nelson’s Dockyard fills with locals, sailors and visitors to watch the sunset with a steel band, live reggae and a Caribbean barbecue.
What the experience includes
- Return transfer from your hotel or marina (no need to drive).
- Entry to the Lookout.
- Optional earlier stop at Nelson’s Dockyard, a UNESCO-listed Georgian dockyard.
- Sunset over Falmouth and English Harbor, Antigua’s most iconic photo.
- Live music into the night.
Who it is for
Couples, groups and families (the vibe is festive but relaxed early on). Very popular with yacht crews.
What to bring
- Comfortable clothes and shoes for walking on stone.
- Cash or card for food and drink (rum punch, barbecue).
- A light layer for the evening.
Best time
November to June, at its liveliest from December to April and during Antigua Sailing Week.
Good to know
Arrive before 17:00 to grab a good spot on the lookout wall. Parking fills up early, which is why the included transfer is the easiest and safest way to get back at night. The steel band usually plays first, followed by a live reggae band after sunset.
