The Ionian Sea around Lefkada offers calm water, good visibility and pleasant temperatures from June. Dive centers in Nidri, Vassiliki and on the west coast run try dives for anyone who has never breathed underwater.
How it works
- Theory briefing and equipment fitting at the center.
- Basic skills practice in shallow water.
- A dive of 30–45 minutes, maximum 12 metres, from boat or shore.
- A certified instructor with you at all times.
What you can see
Rocky walls, Posidonia meadows, octopus, moray eels, starfish and schools of fish. Some sites have small, beautiful grottoes and arches.
