Who it is for
Curious travellers of all ages, families included. No musical knowledge needed; it is a hands-on and very fun activity.
What to bring
- Comfortable, cool clothes.
- Mosquito repellent.
- Cash if you want to buy music or crafts.
Best time
All year. Around 19 November, Garifuna Settlement Day, the village is in full celebration.
Good to know
It is a community experience: a large share of the price goes directly to local families and musicians. The menu can be adapted for vegetarians with advance notice. At the end there is usually some punta dancing in which everyone joins in. The experience is in English, with simple explanations and plenty of hands-on moments; children tend to love it.
