Helmet diving, or sea walking, is one of the most popular activities in Boracay. From a platform anchored off the beach you climb down a ladder to about 4–6 metres wearing a helmet fed with air from the surface, and walk on the sand surrounded by fish.
What you will do
- A safety briefing on the platform.
- Descent by ladder with a guide beside you.
- About 20 minutes walking on the seabed among fish.
- Optional underwater photos and video.
Who it is for
For all ages from around 7, even non-swimmers. You can wear glasses inside the helmet. Not suitable for people with ear or breathing problems. No touching coral.
What to bring
- Swimwear and a towel.
- A rash guard for the sun.
- Nothing valuable: everything is left on the platform.
Best time to go
All year round. From November to May the sea is usually calmer on the White Beach side; in heavy swell the activity is suspended.
