Mallorca has some of the best dive sites in the Balearics, such as the marine reserves of the Bay of Palma, El Toro and the Cala Rajada area. A try dive lets you experience it with no certification.
How it works
- Simple theory briefing and equipment fitting.
- Basic skills in shallow water.
- A dive of about 30–40 minutes, maximum 12 metres, from shore or boat.
- Your instructor stays beside you throughout, in very small groups.
What you can see
Posidonia meadows, rocks with nudibranchs, octopus, bream, damselfish and, with luck, a grouper. In the El Toro marine reserve marine life is especially rich.
Who it is for
Anyone aged 10 or over who can swim. Before diving you complete a standard medical questionnaire; some answers require a doctor’s signature. No previous experience needed.
What to bring
- Swimwear, a towel and something warm for afterwards.
- A sense of adventure: the centre provides the rest.
Best time to go
May to October, with the warmest water from July to September. Avoid flying for 12–24 hours after diving, so book your try dive well before your flight home.

- Certified instructor
