The west coast of Naxos gets the steady meltemi wind and has a shallow lagoon next to Agios Prokopios where you can stand almost everywhere. That makes it a perfect place to step onto a windsurf board for the first time safely.
How the lesson works
- Briefing on land with a simulator: stance, uphauling the sail and turning.
- Practice in the water with a wide board and a small beginner sail.
- Instructor close to you at all times, with a rescue boat in the area.
- Tips to continue with supervised rental or a full course.
Who it is for
Beginners from about age 8 and adults who want to try a new sport. It also works as a refresher for people who sailed a while ago. Looking for kitesurfing? We offer lessons at Pounda in Paros.
What to bring
- Swimwear and a rash vest.
- Water-resistant sunscreen and sunglasses with a strap.
- Water shoes if you have them (the bottom is sandy).
Best time to go
May to October. June and September usually bring moderate winds ideal for learning; July and August, with a strong meltemi, suit intermediates better, and beginner lessons are held early in the day.
