Try Scuba Diving in Naxos

Try Scuba Diving in Naxos

Your first dive in the clear waters of Naxos, with a PADI instructor and very small groups. No certification needed.

The Cyclades offer some of the best visibility in the Mediterranean, often over 20 metres. In Naxos the try dive (Discover Scuba Diving) takes place from sheltered beaches such as Agios Georgios or Agia Anna, or by boat to nearby rocky reefs.

What you do

  • Briefing and gear check on land.
  • Basic skills in shallow water where you can stand.
  • Guided dive to a maximum of 12 metres, alongside your instructor.
  • Octopus, moray eels, groupers and seagrass meadows.

Who it is for

Anyone aged 10+ who can swim and is in good health. Before diving you fill in a standard medical questionnaire; some answers require a doctor’s sign-off. Perfect to try before taking your Open Water course.

What to bring

  • Swimwear, towel and sunscreen.
  • If you wear glasses, tell us: some centers have prescription masks.

Best time

May to October. The water is warmest in August and September (24-25 °C). Do not fly for 12-18 hours after diving.

Good to know

Groups are limited to four students per instructor, so the pace adapts to you. If you enjoy it, the dive can count towards the PADI Open Water course, which you can complete in three or four days on the same island.
