The Blue Cave (Modra špilja) on Biševo island is famous for the blue light that enters underwater and illuminates it in the late morning. This speedboat trip from Split pairs it with some of the most beautiful spots in the Adriatic.
Typical itinerary
- Early departure from Split (or Trogir) by speedboat.
- Visit to the Blue Cave in a small authorised local boat.
- Stop at Stiniva Bay or the Green Cave on Ravnik for a swim.
- Lunch at your own expense in Komiža or a cove on Vis.
- Swim at the Pakleni Islands and free time in Hvar town.
- Return to Split in the early evening.
Who it is for
Anyone who wants to see the best of the islands in limited time. The boat is fast and can bounce in choppy seas: not recommended during pregnancy or for people with back problems.
What to bring
- Swimwear, towel and sunscreen.
- Cash for the Blue Cave entrance and lunch.
- A windbreaker for the boat ride.
Best time to go
May to September. The cave can only be visited in calm seas; with southerly wind the operator replaces it with another stop. In July and August there are queues to enter, so an early start helps.
Included
- Speedboat with skipper
- Fuel and port fees
- Water and soft drinks on board
- Snorkelling gear
