A try scuba dive in Hvar is the easiest way to see the Adriatic below the surface. We start with a briefing at the dive centre, where your instructor explains the equipment, how to breathe from the regulator and the basic hand signals. Then we head by boat or from the shore to a sheltered cove near Hvar Town or the Pakleni Islands.
What you do
- Shallow-water skills practice until you feel at ease.
- A guided dive of around 30–40 minutes, to a maximum of 12 metres.
- Rock walls, seagrass meadows, octopus, moray eels and schools of fish.
Who it is for
Anyone aged 10 or over who can swim and wants to try diving without signing up for a full course. It is an easy add-on to a sailing week, as the instructor can meet you at the harbour. If you have any health concerns, check with your doctor first; you will fill in a standard medical questionnaire.
