A sunset sailing cruise in Hvar is one of the most romantic things to do on the island. We leave Hvar harbour in the late afternoon on a modern sailing yacht of about 11 metres with a local skipper, and head towards the Pakleni Islands, a small pine-covered archipelago of coves that shelters the bay.
What you do
- Sail under canvas, using the engine only to leave and enter port.
- Stop for a swim in a calm cove, weather permitting.
- Watch the sun set over the sea with a glass of local wine and snacks.
- Return as the lights of Hvar’s fortress come on.
Who it is for
Couples, friends and families who want a taste of sailing with no experience needed. You can help hoist the sails or just relax on deck. The group is small, eight guests at most, so the atmosphere stays calm.
What to bring
Comfortable clothes, a light jacket for the way back, non-marking shoes and swimwear if you want to swim.
Best time
May to October. In midsummer the sun sets around 8:30 pm, and in September the light is especially beautiful and the sea is usually calmer.
