The Vulcano boat trip from Lipari is the most popular outing in the archipelago. We leave Marina Corta harbor in the morning on a shared tour boat and follow the west coast of Lipari, with its old pumice quarries and the Pietralunga sea stacks.
What you do
- Cruise past the Vulcano cliffs, including the Horse’s Cave and the Venus Pool, where we stop for a swim.
- See the sea stacks and the island’s volcanic face from the water.
- Enjoy about three hours of free time on Vulcano to climb the Gran Cratere, relax on the black sand beach or soak in the thermal waters.
- Taste local products on board on many departures.
Who it is for
It is perfect as a first taste of the Aeolian Islands, for families, and for anyone arriving in Lipari before or after a sailing week. The boat is spacious and stable, so it suits guests who are not used to small boats.
What to bring
Swimwear, a towel, walking shoes if you plan to climb the crater, water, a hat and some cash for the crater and thermal bath fees, which are paid separately.
Best time
May to October. In June and September the sea is warm and the crater climb is far less hot than in mid-August.
Included
- Shared tour boat
- Swim stops
- Free time on Vulcano
- Onboard tasting (on most departures)
